The development is underpinned by consideration to social responsibility. A major part of this commitment 341 homes, accounting for 40% of all the apartments, will be provided to help local key workers and others to rent and buy homes.

The Guinness Trust Group, with over 100 years of experience in providing affordable housing, has been working with the marina management team to ensure these homes, which are made up of key worker, shared ownership and rented accommodation, are integrated within the body of the development.

The developers will sell the affordable units to Guinness Trust for £13 million less than their build cost (no land value, no profit and no interest charges) as part of their overall £21 million pound investment into the community.
